Started roughly 6:30 AM (Pacific standard time)
Song #1 drum programming, acoustic guitars, bass and slide guitar
accomplished by 7:30 am and lyrics started

at 7:57 am

acoustic guitars and bass for song #2 recorded by 8:50 am
Song #2 is "Get in the car" and I start listening to what should be
the final mix at 9:24 am
Decided to put links to what I have thus far and update this as I go
just to add unnecessary pressure to this. Also came up with the lame
album name "Keeping the doctor away" which is based on a bad pun. (this was just before 9:49 am)
Song #3 beat created just before 10:30 am. Piano part written but not
yet recorded at this time.
Named song #3 "These Times" around 11:03 am after writing the first verse through the chorus. Song completely recorded at roughly 11:53 am.
Took a LONG break, and didn't finish Song #4 "Hello, Texas" until 2:36 PM.
Wow! I am getting slower before getting faster. Mixdown of "Step aside" completed around 4:20 PM

LYRICS:
Space Man
Swinging on a star
and the chains get tangled
What a mess
I tried to go higher and faster
and this is what I get
I only wanted to feel the wind rush past me
in zero gravity
Hope that I can fly without breathing
and if I can't
I think I'll flutter back to the ceiling
and like a champ
Chalk it all up to experience
But I'm a novice
Space man lost in the clouds
Sonic Boom too loud
Space man fighting gravity
It's mad at me
And it wants to bring me down
I didn't think about the specifics
about the flight
Think I should have checked with air traffic
it wasn't bright
Because I am not clear for take off
I'm unidentified
And soon enough the jets will be coming
to shoot me down
So I better find a way to explain this
or not be found
Maybe I'll just try to go higher
I'm up in orbit
Get in the car
Give me the map to navigate
We're notorious now for being late
It's not exactly like I lost my way
I'm just not sure where it is we're supposed to be
Did you remember to fill the tank?
Do we need to stop by the bank?
Packed the games and packed the clothes
Everything should be set I suppose
Get in the car
to travel far
Off we go
Don't know where we are
or where we're heading for
and I'll never know
If we start to run low on cash
We can begin that fortune teller act
Look inside the crystal ball
Take the money, and tell them what they want to hear
If that's a disaster that's the breaks
We'll make a living from my guitar case
and head to where things look the best
Hit the gas and fly out west
(CHORUS)
Paying another month of rent
Giving the landlord that extra 5 percent
So we don't have to sign the lease
To daydream about leaving...one of these...
(Spoken:) "insert proper amount of time here"
These Times
Stop this horseplay this instant
We're gonna break the chair
If I lean back too far
I'M GONNA CRACK MY SKULL WIDE OPEN
See there, look what you did
You blame it on me
Like I was some kid
AND NOW I'M GONNA TELL YOUR MOTHER
I know, she'll probably laugh
I'm laughing myself
I know
AT LEAST IT MAKES A FUNNY MEMORY
You're in deep deep doo doo now
Explain this to Lanelle
Face it
NOW WE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT
I wouldn't change this memory
Even if I had the opportunity
I know and you know
Times like these are great
I (I)
Get lost (lost)
in my (Mind)
When (when)
I think (think)
of these (times)
I saw you up ahead
Switched to the other lane
Timed it
AND THEN I FLOORED THE GAS AND PASSED YOU
And in my rear view mirror
I noticed you sped up
I laughed
THE RACE FOR HOME IS NOW OFFICIAL
Didn't break the speed limit
Well, really not that much
Looked back
AND THEN I SIGNALED WITH MY BLINKER
Cut you off when it was safe
Got home first, grabbed the paper
sat down
AND ACTED LIKE I'D BEEN THERE ALL NIGHT
(bridge/chorus)
Hello, Texas
I've got the tickets and I'm already packed up to go
I'll need to practice a lot before I put on a show
And I know the Austin heat will warm me up through my bones
Hello Texas, I know that I'm a long way from home
It's not the farthest south I've ever been but it's still pretty far
I'm kinda nervous 'cause I've never tried to play lead guitar
And when each night is done I'll hang out with the guys at the bars
Hello Texas, you'll keep a special place in my heart
Hello Texas
Goodbye Northwest
3 days and 4 nights
And you guessed it
I'll go there just
to get a chance to Songfight
Some might say that these words are a waste on this song
They're probably right, but I know that I'll still say that they're wrong
Until I bitch about how all of the lyrics are lame
Hello Texas, by chance could you lend me a brain?
(CHORUS)
I'm turning 30 and it's kinda cool but also it sucks
I get to celebrate in Austin, so I'm liking THAT much
I'm not a poet but I know I do as much as I can
Hello Texas, I'm bound to get sunburned or tan
Hello Texas, I've got long hair, but still I'm a man
Hello Texas, You could probably give a s**t who I am
Step aside
Yeah, it's done now
And I'd say that I'm better off
Tell me
HOW MANY FACES CAN A PERSON HAVE
HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO ACT AMUSED WHILE YOU LAUGH
It's bulls**t
I know about your half lies
And now
DO YOU EVEN KNOW I FOUND THE TRUTH
AND DO YOU REALISE I SAW THE PROOF
STEP ASIDE
YOU'RE IN MY WAY
I'LL ROLL RIGHT
OVER YOU TODAY
AND I DON'T CARE
WHAT YOU SAY
I'M DONE WITH YOU
F**K OFF
You had chances
And over time you used them up
Tell me
HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU EXPECT ME TO
PUT UP WITH ALL OF THE BULLS**T I GO THROUGH
I would've never expected that you'd do me wrong the way that you did
But you did and now I have to admit
It's over
Goodbye
Why is it even now you still can't admit you were wrong
It's not my problem any more, so long
It's over
Goodbye
Thanks for coming
Just so you know
They're about to kill the lights
But I'd like to thank you
for coming here tonight
To open mic
The performers showed that they were brave
and with a beer or two, some even got on stage
It's all the rage
Don't try to sneak in again if you're underage
Thanks for coming
It's been a blast
But all good things can't last
We'll be here next week
So come again
and tell a friend
Thanks for coming
and good night
